Blogging at Western Heights Primary
What is the purpose of a class blog?
A class blog is an online diary of what is happening in our classroom. The main purpose of the blog is to increase the interactions between:
- Whanau and school
- Students within classes – peer learning
- Students between classes – peer learning
- Teachers and other classes
How do we make sure people visit our blog?
To get people to visit our blog we need to make sure that it is updated regularly (at least once a week). We also need to make sure that what we are putting on our blog is interesting and relevant.
Guidelines for blogs:
Remember that everything you publish is visible for everyone to read so you need to make sure that you think carefully about what you write in blogs and in comments.
Guidelines:
- Use only your first name
- Never give out your personal details e.g. address, phone number, email
- When posting an item on the blog make sure your work is free from mistakes
o Use capital letters in the appropriate places
o Use punctuation accurately
o Write words out in full and do not use text language
o Try to fix spelling mistakes
